Sweden faces 'last chance' on Ericsson's fate in China over 5G equipment test involvement after Huawei fallout: source - Global Times

Chinese mobile operators have invited Swedish firm Ericsson to participate in their 5G equipment test and the invitation, which offers the Swedish firm an opportunity for "interview" to access China's 5G market, could be the last chance for Sweden to pull back its wrong decision to exclude Chinese firms such as Huawei from participating in its country's 5G construction, a source close to the matter told the Global Times on Monday.
The source also stressed that participating in the 5G equipment test organized by Chinese mobile operators does not mean Ericsson will be hired, and Sweden has to carefully reconsider its China policy in the regard.

Melinda Gates Was Meeting With Divorce Lawyers Since 2019 to End Marriage With Bill Gates - WSJ

The split between Bill and Melinda Gates, announced last week, has been in the works for a long time.
Ms. Gates consulted with divorce lawyers roughly two years before she filed for divorce from Mr. Gates, saying their marriage was “irretrievably broken,” according to people familiar with the matter and documents reviewed by The Wall Street Journal... Last Monday, the billionaire couple announced they were ending their marriage. In a joint statement posted on Twitter, they said, “we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives.”
The couple hasn’t said what prompted the split. One source of concern for Ms. Gates was her husband’s dealings with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, according to the people and a former employee of their charity, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Ms. Gates’s concerns about the relationship dated as far back as 2013, the former employee said.

Third Covid vaccine for over-50s before winter | The Times

A third jab is to be offered to everyone over 50 in the autumn in an attempt to eradicate the threat from Covid-19 entirely by Christmas, The Times has been told.
Trials of two options are under way, supervised by Chris Whitty, the chief medical officer for England.
The first involves vaccines specifically modified to tackle new variants. The second is for a third shot of one of the three versions already in use: Pfizer-BioNTech, Oxford-AstraZeneca or Moderna.

Egypt reduces compensation required from Ever Given owners to $600M: SCA chief - EgyptToday

Egypt’s Suez Canal Authority (SCA) reduced the amount of compensation claims for the damages caused by the grounding of the Panama-flagged Ever Given Ship from $916 million to $600 million, announced the SCA Chairperson Admiral Osama Rabie on Friday.
In media remarks to Al Hekaya talk show on MBC Masr channel on Friday, Rabie affirmed that the ship is still kept in the Great Bitter Lakes in Fayed.

A 25-year-old Malian woman has given birth to nine babies - two more than doctors had detected during scans... A woman who had eight babies in the US in 2009 holds the Guinness World Record for the most children delivered at a single birth to survive.
Two sets of nonuplets have previously been recorded - one born to a woman in Australia in 1971 and another to a woman in Malaysia in 1999 - but none of the babies survived more than a few days.
World record holder Nadya Suleman's octuplets have grown up and are now 12 years old. She conceived them through in vitro fertilisation.
